Strategic Planning is long term planning that helps to guide growth and new development. It aims to enhance the quality of life for our Shire's residents and to support a sustainable community, economy and environment.
Policy development helps to provide leadership and clarity on particular issues to facilitate transparent and consistent decision making. Council is continuously developing new policy to address a range of issues affecting the Shire.
An important part of Strategic Planning is understanding what the community thinks about particular issues to ensure our plans and strategies reflect community views. By working with residents, community groups and other government agencies a variety of views can be considered and factored into our plans and policies. Community consultation is undertaken continuously as new plans and policies are developed. New consultation opportunities will be advertised on Councils website.
A number of Background Documents have been prepared to inform decisions about strategic planning across the Council area.
