Getting to the Region and Snowy Mountains

Road access is extremely good with the Snowy Mountains Highway crossing the Region from Northwest to south-east and the Alpine Way traversing from the north-east to the south-west. This means the Snowy Monaro Region is about 80 minutes from Canberra and the south coast beaches accessed in Bega Valley Shire.

During the winter season, the entire Region is serviced by a network of bus and coach lines with regular services between Sydney, Canberra, Berridale, Jindabyne and the Snowfields. These services provide safe and efficient transport to the ski resorts.

Canberra airport is just over an hour by road and has services to all state capitals and most regional centres.

NSW TrainLink offers bus services between Jindabyne, Berridale, Cooma and Canberra locations on select days.
