Kerbside Recycling Kerbside recycling is fully comingled. That is, all recyclable materials including paper and cardboard can be placed in the yellow lidded recycling bin for collection.
Did you know? All the recyclable materials collected in the Snowy Monaro are transported and processed at the Materials Recovery Facility in Hume, ACT. These materials are not going to landfill and approximately 90% of the recyclables collected and sorted at the facility are reprocessed in Australia.
Helpful hints to avoid missed kerbside collection and bin placement Residents are advised that kerbside bins need to be correctly presented prior to the collection service occurring. Bins are required to be presented at the roadside in an accessible location for the drivers to collect.
It is the responsibility of the householder to put the bins out, ready for collection the night before each scheduled collection day.
The collection routes are scheduled on days NOT times.
Place bins facing the road with wheels towards the house.
Keep bins away from objects such as letterboxes, trees and parked cars.
Lids must be closed, not overfilled, to avoid litter caused by wind and animals.
Bins not presented or presented in the wrong position, will not be collected, even if full.
Missed collections, missing or damaged bins must be reported to Council as soon as possible.
If you wish to order a new or an additional service, contact your closest branch office.
