Placing a Plaque
Council has specified guidelines for the plaques to be used on Niche walls. Non-approved plaques or monuments are not permitted in any sections of Council cemeteries.
Bronze plaques which are to be used for Niche walls must be of an approved size, shape and must be of a generic design.
Plaques can be organised through Council services for Bombala area, Cooma Cemetery, Nimmitabel and Jindabyne Cemeteries.
Plaque sizes vary with each Niche Wall within the region. Details of the specifications can be found through consultation with Council staff. Erecting a Monument or Plaque
Application must be made to Council toerect a headstone.
It is the Families responsibility to maintain the headstone or monument. All monumental work must be carried out by a qualified stone/monumental mason and be of a non-corrosive material, and comply with Council requirements.
