Jindabyne Growth Plan

The Growth Structure Plan (2007) provides the strategic direction for growth and development around Jindabyne.  The plan determines at the broad level where growth should occur and how it should be managed around Jindabyne.

A discussion paper was prepared to stimulate community discussion and determine how and where growth should occur around Jindabyne. In November 2005 Council held community open days in Jindabyne, Adaminaby, Dalgety and Berridale. A variety of background information on issues including infrastructure, natural and scenic values, heritage values, water resources and social and economic trends were some of the key issues raised throughout the open days. The Jindabyne and Villages Planning Project Open Day Report summarises the outcomes of the issues discussed and raised for each of the villages within the shire.

In response to community consultation the Plan was refined and adopted by Snowy River Shire Council in May 2007. All Councils plans are under constant review and will be re-visited as part of our strategic planning program as they become a priority. Further areas identified for growth have been included in the Snowy River 2013 Local Environmental Plan
