Online System for Exempt and Complying Development
The Electronic Housing Code (EHC) is an online system that allows users to investigate, prepare, lodge and track complying development certificate applications. Users will enjoy a process that is fast, standardised, paperless and available night and day.
Snowy River Shire Council is pleased to offer its residents this great resource. The Council became involved in this initiative to achieve streamlined business processes for complying development applications and enhanced customer services.
How does it work?
The Electronic Housing Code guides users through a step-by-step approvals process.
INVESTIGATE - find out whether a project is eligible for Exempt or Complying Development and if yes, view and download a report detailing the development standards. PREPARE - be guided through a simple process to prepare an application for complying development certificate (CDC). LODGE - lodge the completed CDC application online. TRACK - track the progress of the CDC application online DOWNLOAD - once the result of the CDC application is determined it can be viewed and downloaded from the website.
What does it cost?
There is no fee to use this online system as the EHC is subsidised by a Commonwealth Grant to New South Wales. In the future however, there may be a fee associated with this resource as the Grant comes to an end.
It's important to note that there's still a fee associated with the assessment of a CDC application. To find out more about this, talk to our Development Assessment Team on 6451 1550.
What is Exempt and Complying Development?
Certain buildings or developments that have a low impact and don't require a development application or a construction certificate are categorised as Exempt Development or Complying Development.
