Snakes are a protected species. Our native snakes should not be harmed, which can be a challenge if they are in the wrong place and pose a threat to householders. Council does not remove snakes from private properties or public places.

If you come across a snake on private property and you need it to be removed you should contact National Parks and Wildlife or LAOKO on 64561313 who have a team of volunteers experienced in relocating snakes..
