The 2017 Australia Day Award winners have been formally announced for the Snowy Monaro Region.
“Our sincerest congratulations are extended to all recipients. This is the most significant way to recognise individuals living in our Region for their considerable contributions to community and achievements” said Administrator Dean Lynch.
Council will circulate a further media release on Monday 30 January 2017, announcing the former Bombala Council area Australia Day Award winners that will be presented on Saturday 28 January 2017.
The Former Snowy River Shire Australia Day Award Winners are:
Citizen of the Year - Louise Frolich
Young Citizen of the Year - Lachlan Harrigan
Sportsperson of the Year - Tegan Molloy
Community Event of the Year - The Berridale Community Group and Dalgety and Jindabye Chambers of Commerce for the Community Involvement in L’Etape
The former Cooma-Monaro Shire Australia Day Award Winners are:
Citizen of the Year - Kevin Dunne
Young Citizen of the Year - Gabrielle Kerr
Special Achievement Award - Daud Mohamed
Sportsperson of the Year - Michelle O’Neill
Young Sportsperson of the Year - Samuel Sergo
Community Group of the Year - Cooma North Public School Rugby League Team
Community Event of the Year - “Back to Cooma”
Arts Person of the Year - Allan Spencer
