Snowy Monaro Regional Council regrets that a technical error by an external printing company has resulted in ratepayers in the former Bombala local government area receiving incorrect rates notices or not receiving their rates notices at all.
A technical error by the external printing company which has been used to print and distribute the second instalment of rates notices has impacted upon ratepayers with property in the former Bombala local government area.
As soon as Council became aware of the issue, the external printing company was notified. Council has taken appropriate steps by contacting affected residents and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience that this incident may have caused. The external printing company commenced an investigation into the matter and they identified corrective actions that will be implemented immediately to prevent a recurrence.
The former Bombala Council has been distributing rates notices through an external printing company since 2004, and utilising this particular company since March 2013.
Council has made a Voluntary Breach Notification to the NSW Information and Privacy Commission and also informed the Office of Local Government.
Affected ratepayers are advised to inform Council on 1300 345 345 or send the incorrect rates notices to return sender.
