All offices and facilities within the new local government area of the Snowy Monaro Regional Council will temporarily be closed on Monday 16 May 2016, between the hours of 8.30am to 1pm.

The closure is to allow the newly appointed interim General Manager, Joseph Vescio and Administrator Dean Lynch an opportunity to bring all employees of the newly formed Snowy Monaro Regional Council together.

"I am honoured to have been appointed the Administrator of the new Snowy Monaro Regional Council and I look forward to working with Joe Vescio to establish a Council that delivers excellent services to our community and will look at how we can ensure that the voice of the smaller towns and villages is not lost in years to come. It is important that the Interim General Manager and I welcome all the staff of the new Council and explain how this implementation period will operate" said Administrator Dean Lynch.

"This is a significant moment in the history of our region and I am proud to be appointed as the Interim General Manager of the Snowy Monaro Regional Council bringing everyone together for their first all staff meeting as a new entity" announced General Manager, Joe Vescio.

The closure will include all Council depots, waste facilities, information centres, libraries and office buildings throughout the former council areas of Bombala, Cooma-Monaro and Snowy River.

Emergency numbers, as listed on each of the old council areas websites, will still be in use and available to the public during the closure.

Snowy Monaro Regional Council greatly appreciates your patience and understanding as we commence this transitional period. For further information, please contact Council on the existing phone number until further notice.
