Alcohol Free Zones and Alcohol Prohibited Areas have been declared in Jindabyne and Cooma. These areas enhance community safety by providing safe and attractive public spaces for residents, families and visitors, and by reducing the risk of anti-social behaviour and alcohol-related crime in public spaces.
Alcohol Free Zones / Alcohol Prohibited Areas are declared in line with the Local Government Act 1993.
Alcohol Free Zones (AFZ):
Alcohol Prohibited Areas (APA):
These zones and areas are not related to licensed premises. Patrons of licenced venues such as hotels and restaurants can consume alcohol within the outdoor areas of the venue (such as tables on the footpath) in line with the venue's licencing conditions.
Alcohol Free Zones and Alcohol Prohibited Areas are enforced by NSW Police. To report people drinking in an area with alcohol restrictions, contact your local police station or the Police Assistance Line (PAL) on 131 444.
