In partnership with the Canberra Region Joint Organisation (CRJO) and NSW Environment Protection Authority, Council is participating in the statewide Bin Trim initiative to offer Snowy Monaro businesses free waste assessments.

The program aims to help businesses reduce waste, save money and support the environment by making qualified assessors available to visit participating businesses to review their waste and recycling practices.

Following these visits, participating businesses will receive a tailored action plan with practical steps to avoid, reduce and recycle waste. Eligible businesses may also qualify for rebates of up to $50,000 for the purchase of equipment that helps them to reduce or recycle their waste.

The program is targeting businesses in the healthcare sector, charitable organisations and regional clubs. However, Council encourages all interested local businesses to enquire about participating.

Council is excited to support this fantastic opportunity for our local business community to access free expert advice on reducing waste, helping businesses save money while benefiting our environment.

Businesses that are interested in receiving a free Bin Trim assessment can email the team at bintrim@crjo.nsw.gov.au for more information.

The Bin Trim program has already helped over 38,000 NSW businesses divert more than 260,000 tonnes of waste from landfill.
