- Project typeRefurbishment
- Project value$1,258,380 - Funded by Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund
- Completion Date30 June 2024
Works are scheduled to commence on Monday 13 November 2023, with an expected 14 week delivery program.
The Jindabyne Skate Park was opened in 2006 and this refurbishment will provide a much needed upgrade to a unique, iconic, multi-purpose and multi-generational facility. The skate park location is known as one of the most picturesque skate park views in the world, looking over Lake Jindabyne.
The upgrades aim to regenerate tourism interest and create a contemporary recreational open space for the greater Snowy Monaro region. Plans include shade and seating for users and spectators, lighting and landscaping and areas for beginners, intermediate and advanced skaters and riders.
It is expected that the refurbished park would benefit users representing the various disciplines of boarders, MTB, BMX riders, scooters, roller skates and roller blader's, all age groups, parents, youth and community groups and, possibly, the local police community worker.
Completion on target for June 2024.
In March 2023 a Community Consultation Day was held showing the community the 1st draft plan. Community feedback from this was constructive and beneficial and responses are being taken into consideration.
Meetings will continue with the Project Engagement Group to keep them up to date with the Projects Development and once the draft design 2 has been completed, another community information session to release the final plan.
