  1. Visitors Centres
Platypus Country Visitors Information Centre in Bombala is located next door the red brick building on Railway Park known as Lavender House. So be prepared to spend some time admiring all the beautiful lavender based products and local history when you come for visitor information. They are open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm. Connect with them on Facebook and Instagram, give them a call on (02) 6458 4622 , pop in and meet our knowledgeable, friendly staff or visit their website.

Cooma Visitor Centre
is a Level 2 Accredited Visitor Centre delivering professional accurate travel and tourist information to the travelling and touring public. They are open 7 days a week 9am to 3pm.  Connect with them on Facebook and Instagram, give them a call on 1800 636 525, drop in to meet their enthusiastic friendly staff or visit their website.
  1. Upcoming Events
The Snowy Monaro region has a vibrant and exciting year round calendar of events. Including major tourism festivals through to community charity events. With over 600 events listed each year covering a variety of interests, you will find something to suit everyone.

  • Snowy Monaro Business Awards: Council has partnered with the region's Chambers of Commerce to launch an exciting awards program celebrating the success of local businesses. The awards recognise business excellence and achievement.  For further information and to view the award categories, please click here. Entires are open to all businesses across the Snowy Monaro. Nominations are open now till Thursday 12 April, please click here to nominate.

Council recognises and values the community in a number of different ways. This includes through programs of grants and donations, as well as the Monaro Sports Gallery for outstanding local sportspeople, and Australia Day Awards in a number of categories. Council can also support community groups to access external grant funding to support projects and opportunities which help build a more vibrant community.
