Snowy River Health Centre

The Snowy River Health Centre provides a fit for purpose Health Centre to meet the needs of the Snowy River community. It will provide a major boost to regional health delivery and increase the number and diversity of services available to residents.

The Snowy River Health Centre has brought together General Practitioners, Health practitioners, Nurses, visiting Medical Specialists, and other healthcare providers to meet residents' needs, as prioritised by the community. The facility also provides the opportunity to attract a range of specialist services.

Services available

Level 2

Level 2 is dedicated to General Practice and is operated by Jindabyne Medical Practice (formerly known as Nuggets Crossing Family Practice). Jindabyne Medical Practice offers high quality, comprehensive primary health care services to our local community and tourist population.

Level 1

Level 1 on the lower level, the Snowy River Health Centre accommodates the following services:

Physiotherapy

Chiropractor

Jindabyne Family Chiropractic Dr Jennifer Butcher. Appointments are available Monday to Friday (Saturdays  by appointment in Winter)  from the Bruce Hodges room (Sessional Room 1, Level 1).  Please contact JFC on 6451 2627

Sessional Rooms and Meeting/Education space

Also on Level 1, SRHC  has 2 x sessional rooms (consultation room size) and an Education/Meeting room available for hire.  

Council is keen to take inquiries from Allied Health Professionals that may be interested in providing services in the GP Super Clinic potentially using these sessional rooms.

ComPacks Program

ComPacks - a NSW Health partnership

Snowy Monaro Regional Council provides the ComPacks program via the Werri-Nina Centre in Cooma. ComPacks is a short term package of community support services aimed at helping people to manage a safe return home from hospital. A ComPacks package is available for up to six weeks following a hospital discharge and can assist with services such as: meals, domestic assistance, personal care, respite, transport and social support. 

People who are in hospital and in need of case management and a combination of two or more community support services after discharge, are eligible for ComPacks services. Referrals for a ComPacks package are made by hospital staff during the admission period.
