Delegate Water Billing
Every drop counts from October 2025
Starting October 2025, Delegate water is a paid service.
Charges will soon apply for the water that you use at your home or business.
The essentials:
- The new Delegate Water Treatment Plant is officially up and running
- Charges will apply for the water that you use starting in October 2025
- Every 1000 litres of water used will cost you $3.89
- You'll receive your first bill in early March 2026
- Water billing will begin from the day your water meter is read in October, this varies by property

This is a simple tool to help you get an idea of what your recent water usage will cost once Delegate water billing begins in October 2025.
What you need to get your estimate:
- Grab a recent water and sewer bill for your property
- Find the "CHARGE" table about halfway down the page
- Find the number from "UNITS" column in the "Water Usage Charge" line
- Enter that number in the calculator below and click the calculate button.

Actual usage charges are calculated based on the amount of water supplied to your property. The figure displayed above is what the water usage you entered would cost at the current billing rate of $3.89 per kilolitre (1000 litres). Water usage can change over time due to your usage patterns, developing leaks, and other variables. Contact Council for further information.

Here's how to calculate an estimate yourself:
- Follow the numbered steps above to get everything you need together
- Look in the "Water Usage Charge" line in the "CHARGE" table
- Take the number in the "UNITS" column (the number 8 in the example table above)
- Multiply the water usage units by 3.89
- The result is what this usage would cost you once billing begins in October 2025
- For the example above, the water usage charge using this calculation would be $31.12
