Event Approval

We want to keep everyone safe while having fun at your event. There are some legislations to follow, plus, a few forms you will need to complete prior to holding an event in the Snowy Monaro.

First, complete and lodge the Snowy Monaro Notice of Intention to Organise and Event(PDF, 82KB) form, including as much detail about your event as possible.

An event response will outline any Council approvals required.

The following are some examples of activities that require additional approval:

We recommend allowing a minimum of six months for event notifications to allow time for any of the above approval processes which include applications submitted to scheduled meetings.

Seeking Support For Your Event

Snowy Monaro Council recognises that a thriving events culture is important in a community. The contribution that events bring to the region's cultural diversity is valued and our events team is here to help make your event a success.

The best method for event support is through the Event Sponsorship Request. To request sponsorship, you will need to address the following items in the Event Sponsorship Request form

  • Meet all eligibility criteria
  • Details of the event, date, time and location,
  • Purpose and target market
  • Level of funding
  • Expected visitation from outside of the Snowy Monaro Region
  • How you are promoting your event

Applications for event sponsorship should be submitted a minimum of three (3) months from the event to allow time for a report to a Council meeting for determination.

Apply now using the Event Sponsorship Request form.
