1. Lifeline Bushfire Support Line

Lifeline has a 24/7 phone line to support people affected by bushfires - 13 HELP (13 43 57).

Crisis Supporters on 13 HELP (13 43 57) will provide support that is specific to bushfire affected residents and referrals to services
available in the caller’s community.

 

2. Monaro Family Support Service

Monaro Family Support Service (MFSS) is a multi-site, community-based organisation, with a history of over 35 years supporting individuals and families in the Snowy Monaro.

MFSS work with a whole of community approach which is flexible and responsive.

Offering a range of support programs including work with parents and carers to ensure the wellbeing of children and the safety of all family.

Bushfire impacted residents can access support to assist with their recovery journey.

3. Your Health and Wellbeing

4. Supporting children and young people

Children and young people access information in a variety of ways, including through significant adults, their peers, schools, media and social media. 

Children and young people need the opportunity to process information in a supportive and age-appropriate environment. 

The Emerging Minds Community Trauma Toolkit contains resources to support adults and children before, during and after a disaster or traumatic event. It will help you understand some of the impacts of disaster and how you can help lessen these impacts.

Headspace offer resources and support for young people aged 12 - 25 years, including specialised information for young people affected by a natural disaster. Headspace has an office in Cooma, and also offers online and phone services.
