Extended hours and tender announced for Jindabyne Pool

Snowy Monaro Regional Council is making waves with extended morning opening hours for Jindabyne Pool, as well as the release of the tender for the upgrade work for the pool building.
The increased hours see Jindabyne Pool now open every morning from Monday through Friday to all swimmers from 6am to 8am, as well as the usual hours of 11am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 5pm Saturday. This extension of operating hours during the week gives more people more opportunity to enjoy this popular recreation facility, and take advantage of a great way to improve their health and wellbeing year-round.
“This is an exciting announcement for the people of Jindabyne,” said Chief Operating Officer Jeff Morgan, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.
“By extending the opening hours at Jindabyne Pool, more of our community can enjoy a great facility and reap all the benefits associated with aquatic exercise – at a time that works for them. With the commencement of the open tender process, our Council is doing what it takes to ensure that Jindabyne Pool remains a highlight of our region for many more years to come.”
“Council is also finalising recruitment of additional staff to enable further expansion of operating hours to 6am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 5pm Saturday. It is anticipated these hours will commence in late February. These hours will provide broader community appeal and even further opportunity for increased utilisation and the delivery of fitness and wellness programs to drive community use.”
The open tender for the upgrade refurbishment work at the pool is now open for submissions, with qualified contractors encouraged to submit an application through the online VendorPanel system by 12pm Friday 4 March 2022. Subject to a successful tenderer being appointed, work is anticipated to be undertaken from late April to late June 2022.
