Cooma residents and road users are advised that work will commence this week on the construction of School Zone Pedestrian Crossings at several locations across Cooma, weather permitting.

Plans are for construction to commence from Monday 10 October 2022 on the Vale Street crossings at the intersection of Vale St and Commissioner St – next to Cooma Library and Cooma Public School. Work is expected to continue for the next two weeks.

Work will then commence from Monday 24 October 2022 at the same intersection on the Commissioner St crossings, with all works scheduled to be completed by Saturday 5 November 2022.

Crews will be on-site from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

A Traffic Management Plan is in place with temporary road closures and detours signposted, along with reductions to speed limits. We urge all road users and pedestrians to follow signposted directions, and be mindful of workers and equipment on and around the roadway.

Affected residents and businesses have received a notification letter from the contractor.
