Waste Facilities

Snowy Monaro Regional Council has many waste facilities to assist with the disposal of your waste and recycling.

Domestic recyclables are those which are generated in the day to day running of a household. 

Fee and charges will apply for commercial recycling quantities.

All of Council Waste Facilities will be CLOSED on Public Holidays unless otherwise advertised.
Pay as you Go!!

Residents who dispose of their domestic waste at any of Council's Waste Facilities will pay the appropriate fees and charges for the waste they dispose of.

DOMESTIC RECYCLABLES are accepted FREE OF CHARGE at all Waste Facilities.

Recyclable materials include paper, cardboard, plastic and glass containers, aluminium cans, steel cans, waste oil and scrap metal.
Commercial Quantities are accepted at all Waste Facilities incurring a charge. Large quantities are Not accepted at Transfer Stations.

ASBESTOS can only be accepted at Jindabyne Landfill and Cooma Landfill by arrangement only.

GREEN WASTE is accepted at ALL facilities.
Domestic loads up to half m3, less than 75 Kg, 2 x 240L Wheelie Bins or less than 300mm diameter is accepted FREE OF CHARGE at all Waste Facilities.
Residential & Commercial Green Waste that is greater than 300mm in diameter is accepted at a rate of $73.50 per tonne and $12.50 per m3.

E-WASTE is accepted FREE OF CHARGE at Bombala, Cooma and Jindabyne Landfills for domestic quantities under the E-Waste stewardship program. If the program no longer supports Snowy Monaro residents, Council will charge per item of E-Waste.
Transfer stations have a $5.25 per item handling fee. 
Commercial quantities are accepted at $10.50 per item.
