Composting and Worm Farming – Introducing Black Gold

Snowy Monaro Regional Council is pleased to host this one-hour online workshop to help our residents turn their kitchen and garden waste into "black gold".

Kitchen and garden waste are a large portion of what many households throw into home garbage bins, but turning these resources into compost has benefits for you and the environment. This webinar will teach you how to take simple and free raw materials and turn them into beautiful “black gold” to feed the garden and treat food waste sustainably.

Presented by Sustainable Gardening Australia, the webinar will cover what compost is and how it is made, the basic compost recipe, common problems and remedies, and the challenges of composting in cold weather. Worm farming and bokashi will also be discussed.

We will send a Zoom link to registered participants on the morning of the session.
