Household Chemical Clean Out

Got a stash of old chemicals lurking in your garage or garden shed? It's time for a spring clean, with the annual Household Chemical CleanOut event returning for 2025. 

Residents across the Snowy Monaro can dispose of potentially hazardous household chemicals completely free of charge, with this important initiative giving everyone an easy way to dispose of these potentially hazardous materials safely and responsibly.

WHEN: Sunday 30 November 2025

TIME: 11am to 2pm

LOCATION: Cooma Landfill, 8448 Monaro Highway, Cooma

Accepted items include:

• Solvents and household cleaners
• Pesticides and herbicides
• Pool chemicals
• Motor fuels
• Fluorescent globes and tubes
• Acids and alkalis
• Paint and paint-related products
• Gas bottles
• Fire extinguishers
• Car and household batteries
• Motor oils and cooking oils
