Snowy Monaro Regional Council has launched a new corporate website, replacing the merged site of the former shire councils and moving into the new era of online customer centric information delivery.

Much work has been undertaken in the background to streamline the site and to make it more useful for community members.

The top six most popular pages for Snowy Monaro Regional Council to date have been waste, rates, planning, libraries, news & events, and careers with council.

The website platform being used is OpenCities, one that is used widely and successfully by other councils around Australia.

Mobile functionality is a core focus given more than 60% of people now get their information from mobile devices such as phones and iPads so this is a really important improvement upon the old site.

Chief Communications Officer, Gina Woodward said, “A website is never a tick and you’re done project – it’s constantly being updated and evolves in response to what our community needs.

“It’s fantastic to have the new site up and running after so much work by the engagement team to deliver this new project, which we hope is well received by our community.”

Feedback on the site is always welcome as daily updates are made. If you see anything that isn’t quite right, can’t find something or feel that your search terms aren’t working, then please email communications@snowymonaro.nsw.gov.au
