Local residents and businesses are invited to share their views on tourism in our region and its effects on our community, economy, and environment with the launch of the Snowy Monaro Tourism Survey. The community feedback received will be used to create Council’s new tourism strategy.

This short survey should only take around 10 minutes to complete, with straightforward questions about your personal experiences with tourism, how you would like the industry developed and promoted locally, and the kinds of visitor offerings you value.

Visit www.yoursaysnowymonaro.com.au/tourism-survey today to share your thoughts and help shape the future of tourism in the Snowy Monaro. The online survey can be completed on your computer, tablet, phone or other device with internet access.

Responses accepted until 11.59pm Tuesday 30 April 2024.

Everyone that submits a completed survey will be entered into a lucky prize draw, with a chance to win one of ten $50 gift vouchers to spend on purchases at our visitor centres in Cooma and Bombala.

Mayor Chris Hanna said the survey is an important opportunity for the community to shape the future direction of the local tourism industry.

‘This is the first time we have undertaken a region-wide survey on tourism and how it impacts our communities and businesses,’ said Mayor Hanna.

‘The results will help Council to create our new tourism strategy, and make sure that we really understand and can capture the community’s views, priorities and needs.’

‘I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to go through the survey and have your say on the future of this important part of our local Snowy Monaro economy.’

In addition to aiding in the development of a new overarching strategy, community feedback will help inform Council’s wider decision-making on tourism management, marketing, infrastructure and development.

For those preferring to complete the questionnaire manually pop into the Cooma or Bombala Visitor Centres and our friendly staff can help you out.

This research project is being conducted by an independent company specialising in this field, to ensure all responses remain strictly confidential and to guarantee the validity of the results.
