Electrical and plumbing compliance works begin later this week at Cooma Landfill. The site will be closed all day on Friday 23 May and Saturday 24 May 2025, due to the power and water disconnections required.

No large-quantity commercial waste disposal facility will be available in the region on these dates. Jindabyne Landfill accepts commercial loads that can be unloaded by the customer into the site’s disposal skip bins by hand.

The Jindabyne facility is open on Friday 23 May 2025 from 9.30am to 4.30pm and on Saturday 24 May 2025 from 10am to 3pm.

Site excavations being undertaken over the two day period mean that the Cooma ScrapMart buyback shop will also be closed.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by this essential maintenance closure and appreciates the community’s understanding as we complete these works to improve the mains services at Cooma Landfill.
