Snowy Monaro Regional Council is holding an extraordinary meeting in Cooma at 1pm on Thursday 30 November 2023, to work through the steps required to finalise Council’s annual report.

The agenda for Thursday’s meeting includes formally submitting Council’s financial statements for the 2022/23 financial year for external audit, in addition to accepting the content of the annual report.

The 2022/23 Annual Report is a statutory document, through which Council reports on the organisation’s work undertaken in the 2022/23 financial year. This report also measures Council’s progress against the goals and commitments set out in the Integrated Planning & Reporting documents. These include the Operational Plan, Delivery Plan and Community Strategic Plan.

Council will also be considering the quarterly budget review (QBR) for the period ending September 2023 at this meeting. This important report provides councillors and the community with an indication of the organisation’s current fiscal health.

The QBR details Council’s overall financial position, giving councillors and senior management the information they need to make informed and responsible financial decisions. With this information, councillors can ensure Council is on track to meet organisational objectives.

The business paper for this meeting is online now on our website. This document includes the full agenda for Thursday afternoon, with unabridged officer’s recommendations and reports available to the public for their information. See www.snowymonaro.nsw.gov.au/Council/Meetings to access this document, and learn more about what’s on the agenda for this extraordinary meeting.

Council’s meeting webpage linked above will host a livestream of the meeting on Thursday 30 November 2023. Tune in at 1pm on the day to watch along live, or view a recording of the stream at a time that suits you. The recording will be available online at the link above within 48 hours of the conclusion of Thursday’s meeting.

A note on terminology: In the context of Council meetings, the term “extraordinary” only indicates that a particular meeting is an additional meeting, scheduled outside of the set calendar of monthly ordinary Council meetings.
