Join the Cooma Creek Community Cleanup

Cooma residents are invited to roll up their sleeves and make a difference this September at the upcoming Cooma Creek Community Cleanup. This collaborative event – organised by Snowy Monaro Regional Council, Cooma Landcare, and Cooma Water Watch – is part of Clean Up Australia's newest initiative, The Great Spring Clean.

- Meeting Point: Frank Norris Park (near the pool), 5 Crisp Street, Cooma
Come down and enjoy the spring weather, meet your neighbours, and lend a hand to spruce up Cooma Creek and the town centre before the arrival of summer. We’re providing the bags, gloves, and claw sticks, so all you need to bring along is your hat, water bottle, and sunscreen.
As a token of appreciation, volunteers will be treated to a free sausage sizzle following the cleanup.
This local event is part of the broader Great Spring Clean Up campaign running throughout September. The initiative aims to bring communities together across Australia to make a positive impact on the environment and keep their local public spaces looking their best.
Taking part in the Cooma Creek Community Cleanup is a great way to take advantage of the warming weather and do your bit for the community.
Residents who wish to organise their own cleanup events during September can register on the Clean Up Australia website at www.cleanup.org.au.
Registered participants will receive a free kit with essential cleanup gear and can dispose of collected rubbish and recycling at no cost at Council's landfills and transfer stations across the region. Some restrictions apply at transfer stations, so contact Council before dropping off.
