Rate Council's performance with the 2023 Community Satisfaction Survey

The 2023 Snowy Monaro Community Satisfaction Survey begins this afternoon, Monday 16 October, with Taverner Research Group calling residents on both landlines and mobiles to find out what our community thinks about Council’s performance.

If you receive a call between Monday 16 October and Monday 30 October, please be assured that these calls are legitimate. We encourage you to take 15 minutes out of your day to share your thoughts.

Calls to residents will be placed from 3.30pm to 8pm on weekdays and from 10am to 4pm on weekends.

New for 2023 is an online version of the survey, ensuring a greater cross-section of our region’s residents have the opportunity to provide their feedback. Taverner Research Group is partnering with a number of leading online market research services, who will invite local residents on their platforms to complete the survey online.

Both the phone and online surveys are opt-out only. This means residents will be randomly invited to complete the survey directly by Council’s research partners, and cannot request to complete a survey themselves. As part of the methodology required by the relevant international research standards, this helps prevent self-selection bias from negatively effecting the results.

The purpose of the Community Satisfaction Survey is to hear directly from our community about how well Council is performing as an organisation. Participants will be asked about their satisfaction with Council services, and responses will help us identify where we can do better.

This year’s results will be compared to results from the survey in previous years, showing us how we’re doing over time. Results will also be measured against other inland regional councils in NSW, who conduct similar surveys with their communities.

A report and scorecard will be prepared once the results have been collated following the survey. These will be presented to Council’s executives and councillors before the end of the year.

The 2023 Community Satisfaction Survey is being undertaken by expert research organisations, certified under ISO 20252:2019 – the international best practice standard for market, opinion and social research.
