Stride forward, ride ahead: What would get you walking & cycling more?

Parent and child cycling

As spring returns to the Snowy Monaro, there’s no better time to dust off your joggers or bike, and get out and enjoy the warming weather and natural beauty of our region.

Council is seeking feedback on our active transport plan – by way of a survey – asking for your help in identifying the gaps in the shared path network and priorities for new or improved footpath and cycleway projects.

With motorised transport forming a critical and necessary majority of transportation in a regional area like the Snowy Monaro, it is vitally important that we make walking and cycling as easy, accessible and attractive as possible.

Active transport leads to better health for community members, and a cleaner and safer environment in our towns and villages.

Visit www.yoursaysnowymonaro.com.au/active-transport-what-would-make-you-walk-and-cycle-more to have your say today.

Survey closes Sunday 1 October 2023.

To help you learn more and make an informed contribution to this initiative, we’re  holding a series of community workshops across the region – and online:

  • Tuesday 5 September – Bombala – 4.30pm to 6pm at Bombala Community Centre
  • Wednesday 6 September – Jindabyne – 4.30pm to 6pm at Jindabyne Library
  • Thursday 7 September – Cooma – 5pm to 6.30pm at Cooma Library
  • Tuesday 12 September – Online – 4.30pm to 6pm

Visit www.yoursaysnowymonaro.com.au/active-transport-what-would-make-you-walk-and-cycle-more to learn more or register for the online workshop.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts, ideas, and concerns about this important project to make the Snowy Monaro a healthier and happier place to live, work and visit.
