Community Services Advisory Committee seeking nominations

Snowy Monaro Regional Council would like to invite nominations for its Community Services Advisory Committee. The Committee will comprise of up to eight community representatives, Council staff and a Councillor. We are seeking nominations from suitably qualified people as follows:

• One community representative with experience in the financial management sector
• One community representative with a legal background
• One community representative with a family member residing in Yallambee Lodge
• One community representative with a family member residing in Snowy River Hostel
• One community representative with a family member in receipt of services through Community Support Programs

The primary role of the Committee is to provide advisory support related to Residential Aged Care and Community Support Programs:

• Provide information and advice, which will contribute to the strategic management of service areas
• As required, provide advice and make recommendations concerning policies, procedures, and process
• Advise Council on practical considerations affecting operational, financial and other resourcing issues
• Where requested by Council, comment on major projects
• Take into account Council’s budgets and budget constraints when providing advice or recommendations

The Committee will meet quarterly with the meetings rotated between Berridale and Cooma.
