Council facilities and services over the Australia Day long weekend

The community is advised that a number of Council’s services and facilities will be closed for the Australia Day public holiday on Friday 26 January 2024.

Council facilities and services closed on Friday 26 January 2024:

  • Council offices in Berridale, Bombala, Cooma and Jindabyne
  • Landfills and ScrapMarts in Bombala, Cooma and Jindabyne
  • Bredbo Transfer Station
  • All libraries, including the Mobile Library
  • Public swimming pools in Adaminaby, Berridale and Jindabyne

There are a wide array of events being held throughout the Snowy Monaro on Australia Day this year:

  • Bombala Australia Day Festival at Bombala Showground
  • Bredbo Australia Day Breakfast at Bredbo Centennial Park, 9am–11am
  • Cooma Australia Day Celebrations at multiple venues, 7am–6pm
  • Jerangle Gourmet Breakfast at the Jerangle CWA Rooms, 8am–10am
  • Jindabyne Australia Day Celebrations at John Connors Oval from 9am
  • Michelago Australia Day BBQ at Michelago Sportsground, 12pm–1.30pm
  • Nimmitabel Australia Day Celebrations at Lake Williams, 8.30am–11.30am
