Lifting of prevention notice for land filling at Micalago Rd property

Council advises in accordance with the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (NSW) that a prevention notice for the suspension of land filling operations at the property located at 298 Micalago Road, Michelago will be lifted on Monday 28 July 2025.

Filling operations will be permitted to resume at 298 Micalago Road, Michelago from Monday 28 July 2025, subject to the conditions imposed by Council in the development consent dated Monday 29 August 2022.

Council will continue to work with the owner/operator to limit heavy vehicle trips, avoiding Michelago village centre.

Council will continue to monitor compliance at the site. Members of the public should notify Council of any concerns by email to council@smrc.nsw.gov.au.

Summary of relevant development consent conditions

  • Use of Earth Moving Equipment
    • Trucks or machinery hauling material to the site are limited to the hours of 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
    • Work on the site using earth moving equipment limited to the hours of 8am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday
  • Dust control measures
    • Adequate measures will be taken to prevent dust from affecting the amenity of the neighbourhood during construction
      • Physical barriers placed around or over dust sources
      • Surface dampened to prevent airborne dust, without causing run-off
      • Vehicles transporting excavated material must be covered at all times
