Property and Development Advice Service

Council offers a two-tiered service to customers seeking advice in relation to planning and development matters.

Development Support Service

The first level of assistance is with Council’s Duty Town Planners, where general enquiries may be answered about your property, such as zoning, constraints and permissible uses.

This service is available via phone between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Counter enquiries are available in the Cooma and Jindabyne offices ONLY and are free of charge. Appointments for face-to-face meetings are recommended and should be made via phone or email as below.

General enquiries should be emailed to planning@snowymonaro.nsw.gov.au where your enquiry will be acknowledged within two working days.

Property & Development Advice

For written advice from Council on property matters, you can apply for a 10.7 (2 &5) Planning Certificate. This includes information relating to building entitlements.

If you require more detailed planning advice, you are advised to seek the services of an independent planning consultant.
