Countegany Road upgrade complete and reopen for traffic

Council is pleased to announce that construction on Countegany Road is complete with the road now fully open for public use, funded under the NSW Government Safer Roads Program.

This project has delivered important safety improvements including shoulder widening, installation of guardrails, signage and line-marking.

Work on Countegany Road is part of a broader program funded under the NSW Government Safer Roads Program delivering safety improvements to Numeralla Road, The Snowy River Way and Barry Way – with all works expected to be complete by April 2023.

Council completed this project on time and within budget, in accordance with the funding agreement between Snowy Monaro Regional Council and Transport for NSW.

Council would like to thank the community and the road users for their patience while work was underway. Traffic restrictions play an important part during roadworks in keeping the public and our workers safe.
