Chief Executive Officer

Noreen Vu is Snowy Monaro Regional Council’s Chief Executive Officer, commencing in the role Monday 14 July 2025.

Ms Vu joined Council as our new permanent Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following the conclusion of interim CEO Stephen Dunshea’s contract in July 2025.

Ms Vu was appointed to the role by unanimous councillor decision at the May Ordinary Council Meeting on Thursday 15 May 2025, joining Council following a successful tenure as the head of Weddin Shire Council in the state’s central west.

The new chief brings significant experience and expertise to the Snowy Monaro, with a professional background that includes senior roles in all levels of Australian government across strategy, policy and asset management and numerous post-graduate and undergraduate academic qualification covering multiple disciplines relevant to the role.

Councillors voted to appoint Council’s new CEO commences on the back of an exhaustive specialist recruitment process conducted over several months in the first half of 2025.

A highlight of Ms Vu’s CV and a key factor in her appointment to the role is her demonstrated commitment to local grassroots engagement, connecting with community members face-to-face and working with local people on the decisions that affect them.
