Snowy Monaro Regional Council wishes to advise the community of two upcoming Extraordinary Council Meetings to be held at Cooma Council Chambers in May and June 2024, for the review and approval of important Council plans for the 2024/25 financial year. These documents are required by legislation to be finalised before 30 June 2024.

The term extraordinary meeting is used for any extra meeting that is added to the schedule of ordinary Council meetings, and doesn’t mean that these meetings are more important than any other.

An Extraordinary Meeting is scheduled for Thursday 2 May 2024 at 1pm for councillors to review and approve important documents for public exhibition.

The documents to be reviewed are:

  • Council’s draft revised Delivery Program 2022-2026,
  • draft Operational Plan 2024-2025,
  • draft Revenue Policy 2024-2025,
  • draft Fees and Charges 2024-2025, and
  • revised Long Term Financial Plan

Following public exhibition of these documents from Monday 6 May to Monday 3 June 2024, a second Extraordinary Meeting will be held on Thursday 27 June 2024 at 1pm. This meeting will allow councillors to review the public feedback received on the draft plans, and discuss the adoption of the revised documents.

These additional meetings are required due to the large amount work required to meet Council's Integrated Planning and Reporting requirements, which are legislated under the Local Government Act 1993.

Council encourages the community to attend our meetings. You can be there in-person at Cooma Council Chambers on Thursday 2 May and Thursday 27 June 2024 at 1pm, or tune in and watch the live webcast on our website.
