Programmed construction and maintenance work is scheduled to begin on Mila Road from Monday 14 November 2022 for two to three weeks, weather permitting.

This work will address serious deterioration on the sealed section of Mila Road by transitioning heavily damaged sections to an unsealed surface.

This method has been used successfully on The Snowy River Way and will improve road and safety conditions until further work can be undertaken. Other parts of the sealed road will receive minor patching and repair work during this time.

Council have successfully obtained funding through the NSW Government Fixing Local Roads Round 3 Grant totalling $5,652,392, to be used in fixing Mila Road. We are working towards a complete design ready for construction by the end of 2022.

When the design is complete and approved, Council aims to begin major construction work along Mila Road within the first 6 months of 2023 (weather permitting). This timeframe is only an early estimate. Things can and will change as we get closer to finalising the design.

Council have listened to community and motorist concerns in relation to the condition of Mila Road and this significant investment will address the problems road-users have raised.

We will keep the community updated on Mila Road maintenance and improvement works as the current works continue and progress is made towards the major grant funded works getting underway.
