Meals on Wheels

Our food services program offers a variety of options to provide our consumers with nutritional meals:

• Meals on Wheels - delivering meals to your home - both hot and frozen options available;
• Providing meals at a community centre;
• Helping with shopping for food;
• Help with making meals and storing food in your home. 

 

Information you need to know about Meals on Wheels:

• Hot meals and or frozen meals can be delivered to your home Monday to Friday, with additional frozen meals as an option for weekends. Frozen meals are available in a range of options to suit your taste and dietary requirements.
• Due to the concern for your welfare and food safety compliance, we ask that if you are not going to be home for your scheduled visit, you call the Werri-Nina Centre on (02) 6451 1059 to cancel your meals.
• Under no circumstances will the staff member or volunteer leave the meal unattended (due to food safety requirements).
• If you do not cancel your meal for a scheduled visit and have simply gone out for the day, please note that the fee for meal delivery will still be applied.
• We recommend that you eat your meal immediately, if for some reason, you need to wait before eating, please ensure that your meal is put into the refrigerator to help the meal remain nutritious and to reduce the growth of food bacteria.
• If you have chosen frozen meals as an option, you will be provided with a refrigerator magnet with heating instructions.
